Hi,

I snapped the reverse tilt lock lever on my 65ES72L over the weekend, so that I can not easily lock the engine. Is there any way I can manually engage the reverse lock without turning the manual lever on the transom bracket? The engine will now lift in reverse.

Ideally I would like to replace it, but how? Drill it out? Is it operated by a cam? On inspection, it just seems to throw the cable that runs down to the hooks either to the left for locked, or right to unlock?

Many thanks

You could replace the cable with a longer piece and put a T handle on it to pull. The only thing is you have to hold it while tilting the motor, it won't stay unlocked unless you hold it. I did that for years and it was a pain.
