how much can a block be bored oversized. my engine is 1971, has already been bored 20 over, and now has hole in rear piston. dont know yet if it needs reboring, just got motor out today and torn down. the cam appears to have a flat spot on one of the lobes. Can i use auto cam, or do i need expensive marine profile cam? the boat by the way is 1971 glastron v164. i picked it up dirt cheap, good trailer, boat seems solid, but engine is doa, also has 250 outdrive. any advice would be appreciated. thanks

got motor cleaned up for inspection, now i need to send it off to machine shop. i do know it will need camshaft, lifters, bearings, dont know yet about cylinders...have to wait and see, i guess. anywhays, can i get auto internal parts, and if so, what info will the parts house need to cross reference parts? i have read that this is basically a car engine put in a boat-sans external components etc.. thanks for any help
