Help! I took my boat out of the garage and ran it around the lake for the first time this year. Ran fine. I put it back in the garage and a week later found a puddle of gear oil on the floor. It seems to be coming from two holes, on either side of the outdrive, just below where the two sections are bolted together. What are these? There are no screws in them, did they fall out? Are these like grease zerts or something?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

What if he has an OMC, or Volvo drive? Where is he going to find a "Quad Ring"?

Never could figure out how people can give an exact answer as to what is wrong, when they don't even know what's being worked on.

Re: Leaking gear oil

Maybe we need a READ ME FIRST under the Adult sticky
All we can do is give our best guess when the poster does not supply the information on what their working on or having trouble with.
Maybe they see the title and assume we know what they have,I don`t know.

That or ask him what he has, like cooter did, then we wait for him to supply some information we can work with.
