I have this aftermarket (Power Up) trim and tilt that is on my project boat. It kind of worked and than just stopped working. When I took it apart to fix it, oil poured out of the electric motor. The hydraulic fluid got drained out of the resivour and I realized that I needed new seals for the electric motor. Since my funds are somewhat limited with two daughters in college, I am attempting to repair the unit. Does anyone know what oil would have been in the electric motor before I seal it up on re-assembly? The electric motor is good, I tested it after I put it back together. I called a dealer about the hydraulic fluid and he told me to just use dextron ATF fluid. I have read some articles that ATF has detergents that may damage seals. Is this true? Should I stay away from ATF fluid.
