I purchased a nice older Welcraft with the '99 Johnson 175 Ocean Runner/Pro. It has Carbs. The first few days we went out it started on first turn and ran flawlessly and very fast at speed but had a little shutter at idle, no biggie. I removed the cover and also removed the airflow box in the front to access the carbs just to look and a swear I knocked loose a vacuum line from the fuel pump, (i just discovered this). Today the motor now does not start with out throttle and bogs when heavy power is applied unless you pump the ball. It will get up to plane then bog down like its running out of fuel and almost shut off. If you pump the ball again it will idle in gear for hours at no wake speeds it just will not run at speed without bogging out. The vacuum lines are on a 3 way "T" connector attached at the fuel pump, one looks like it goes in to the cylinder somehow but there is one not attached to anything . It looks like it should be attach to the #1 (top left carb) as there is a nipple for it and the line is cut almost perfect to fit. Is this the issue? Is it sucking air here and killing the fuel pump performance? I haven't been able to test the vacuum line at the carb because of weather hence the post. Thanks or any help or thoughts here.
