Alright, here is my issue. A buddy brought me a 95 mariner tracker 40 hp 4cyl 2stroke dual carbs with oil injection. use model 6E9-015001 since I can not find the tag and it has been painted. There is 2 upper and 2 lower motor mounts at the driveshaft housing that seperate the housing from the steering shaft/swivel joint. Replacing the lowers is no issue. Its the uppers that are a problem. I believe the part# is 83910t
My question is does the powerhead have to come off in order to gain access to the motor mounts? I have googled the net and searched i-boats and no answers have come up. I don't want to pull the powerhead just to find out there is some other way.
