Just bought an older pontoon with a 85hp Javelin outboard. I purchased it on Halloween of 2008, had it on the water for an hour or so, followed by another hour the next day. Everything worked great. Then it was covered and stored outdoors here in the South Dakota climate over the winter. Upon the arrival of spring I began the task of repairs and spit shinning. I came to notice that when I tried to lower the engine(trim down) that I could hear the hydrolics humming/grunting but that the motor would not drop, like it had before. No leaks are present and nothing appears to be damaged. We were actually able to manually(physically) pull the motor down ...against much resistance. When the "UP" trim butoon was pushed the motor raised just like it was supposed to and did last year. Any suggestions?
