Fuel pump rebuild

Hello all,

does anyone know the part number of a rebuild kit for a 1996 7.4L efi/mpi fuel pump? darn thing seemed to have varnished up due to a long period of not chaseing fish.......i dont want to tear it apart before i have some new parts to replace (thats if there is such an animal)

Howdy,

You should provide a little more info. Mercury uses engine serial number to determine replacement parts. To my knowledge there are no fuel pump "rebuild kits" for marine pumps. (Liability and all that rot)

You will most likely need to replace the pump if that one won't cut it anymore.

EBasic Power does have pumps as does Napa in their marine line (Sierra)

By the way,

take a look at the "Adults Only" sticky above in the main message list for this forum......If your fuel pump "varnished up" like you describe, there's a host of other maintenance items that will need attention too.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,.... Unfortunately,.. Fuel pumps are replaced, not rebuilt anymore...

They might even have a listing for it here at iboats,... Click on the Merc. parts link at the top of this page...
