This year I am going to have a spare tire along with my trailer. It is an Eagle trailer for my 19' boat. What is a good mount that won't scratch up the paint on the trailer but still hold the tire good? I saw the Fulton on iboats but didn't know if you folks have other options or opinions on anything else. Thanks

they all are going to scratch the paint. if you did not want scratches, you should have bought an aluminum trailer.

Ok, I can deal with that but what about the mount itself, any suggestions?

I'm using a ( Galvanized) tie down brand high mount but feel that there are manyy that are just as good. If you don't want to scratch your paint, make a rubber gasket where it meets the trailer. FWIW, A $8 spare tire cover when your done will hide your (must have) lock and keep the tire from UV damage.

I've had the hi-mounts on my last two trailers. No problem with them. My buddy has one on his trailer that mounts the wheel horizonal on the frame. We had some problems with the eye on the front of the boat hanging up on the frame when we were launching the boat.
