Help Boat Won't Start!!!

have a 1997 Sea Ray F-16 Sea Rayder jet boat with a 175 Mercury Sport Jet . I just put it in the water after a long winter and the boat wouldn't Crank over. I thought it was the battery but full checked and charged battery that isn't it. The blower also wasn't working the fuse was blown it was a 7.5 amp I only had a 10 amp so I used that. The new fuse didn't blow but the blower doesn't turn on is that becasue wrong fuse? The blower lite turns on, on the switch but blower doesn't work any ideas there? The boat when I try and start it is very weak seems as there isn't enough power to crank the motor over. Any help with these issue I would be greatful!!!

Also if anyone knows of a good and honest boat servicer in Northwest Indiana or the chicagoland area I could use that would also be a help since I don't know much about motors.

my first guess would be the battery. it might not be holding a charge like it should. i just had a bad battery last season that said it had a full charge but as soon as i tried starting the boat it would die.

could be a short somewhere in the wiring? using the different fuse would prolly be ok but i would get the correct one in there as soon as u can so u don't fry anything. fuses protect the system and a higher amp fuse lets more thru before it pops.

i have had horns or blowers or whatever not work on my boat and i would pull the fuse and take a little sandpaper or emery board to the connections and walla it starts working, just a little corrosion over the winter. i agree with galaxy on your battery, try pulling your battery off a vehicle and see what it does on your boat

Check the voltage at the battery terminals, then turn the key and check voltage drop. 12.5 to 10 is good, anything lower means fried battery. You can jump the solenoid terminals to rule out faulty starter. For your blower motor, there is high resistance in the system or the brushes, commutator and ground need attention. You should dissconnect the wiring and hook it up directly to the battery for a second to see if it works .
