Swapping lower unit on a 1993 150 Evinrude Intimidator

I blew the gears out on my 1993 Evinrude 150 Intimidator Model VE150GLETR. Can I replace this lower unit with a 1993 FICHT Intruder lower unit?

Crowley marine has a web site to look at all LU part numbers, it looks as though all 93 150 models have the same #, but double and triple check.

It will be a direct bolt up just install new impeller.

I just found out the FICHT can't be a 1993 since they did not make them then. The guy I'm dealing with said it was the first year Evinrude made FICHT motors which he thinks is 2000. The holes all line up, but I want to be sure before I drive my boat 2 hours to have it put on. Does the year change make a difference?

Again, type in Evinrude outboard parts on your comp, then click on Crowley marine, it will let you pick the year and HP of your motor, then you can go through the different models and cross reference the numbers.

Hey gsyfishy,

I did what you suggested, the only problem is I don't know the model # of the FICHT motor and there were many different ones in 1997. The guy who has the motor doesn't know for sure either. He say's he "thinks" it from the first year FICHT motors came out which is 1997. When I compare the numbers the gearcase seems the same, #5005401 GCASE V6/STD/OFFS. I waiting for him to call me and take my boat to him and see if it will work. I just didn't want to waste my time if it would not fit.

Any 60 degree 150-175hp gearscase(carb & ficht) from 1992-06 will be a direct bolt up with to your engine. Also any V-6 gearcase(90 degree 200-225hp) from 1992-06 will fit but you will will have to use you driveshaft and shift rod
