What spark plugs in a 1967 Evinrude 18hp

I forgot the manual for my 1967 Evinrude 18hp and need to get plugs today while I am in town. Anybody know what the correct plug is? What brand is the best, or doesn't it matter?

OMC recommendation - Champion J4C, gapped to .030"

Thanks for the information.

In the event the Champion J4C is not available is there much difference with the J6C or J8C?

I'd stick with the J4C ... unless someone else has had satisfactory performance with the hotter ones!

I have a 1972 18hp and I use the J6C a little hotter and tends to foul out less if you troll a lot.
