Jack Plate problems

Hi, I raised my Jack Plate and it will not lower again. Makes a clicking noise like it is trying but is stuck. I have checked the fuse and oil. Everything is fine. I took the skiff out of the water to see if I could find the problem, but still no luck. Anyone have the same thing happen? Never had a problem with it before.:confused:: thanks, In the Outer Banks

Not sure where this belongs perhaps electrical.never saw a jack plate but::
If it has a pump motor and it isn't running.could be the contacts in the relay The click you here is the relay.You could jump across the relay large terminals see if the motor runs.Be careful of sparks.
This is all conjecture on my part having never seen a jack plate up close.I'm assuming the circuit is similar to that of a starter.
