I have a 1997 226 Lxi with the 5.7 L VP. I want a good stainless steel prop for it. What pitch would be best all around. We will be doing a fair amount of skiing/ tubing but I definitely want speed also. Can somebody give me some suggestions. Also, how much will I have to shell out for a stainless prop. Thanks.

Re: Stainless steel prop question

I have a 21 P 3 blade aluminum and have been researching my options, because I too would like to have more holeshot for water sports without giving up a lot to WOT speed. I believe that I'm going to go with a 19" 4 blade. Not sure about the aluminum or stainless steel yet. Pricing is about a 1/3 or more for the ss. Here are some good articles from trailer boats that might help you decide.
