hi

i have a 1974 25 hp evinrude tiller with a rough idle , sputtering coughing ect. on the front of the motor there is a knob rich/lean the knob is attached to a long rod and at the othere end of the rod is a norrow needle pin

my question is what is the factory setting from the seated positon, how many turns out is the factory setting?

i have also read that the slow spead circut my be dirty and i may have to clean that circut out

i can find no othere adjusting screws on the carb anywhere i allready have a rebuild kit this is a simple looking single carb

i beleave cleaning & resetting this rich/lean rod should fix my problem since when the boat is on plane the motor runs great
