I was thinking of upgrading my tracker from a 25 hp to a 50 hp......

Right now by myself light load I hit 23 mph.........How fast do you think the 50 will go.......It is a johnson 2000 50 2 stroke

yours is a 2001 model but the tracker site says the max for a 2009 pro team is 30hp. your manual should be able to tell you or there maybe a plate on your boat that lists the maximum for your boat just do not go beyound that max.

my boat is a 2009 tracker pro guide 16' sc with 50hp motor and it goes 27.8 mph according to gps tracking and the speedo says 27. it is a little heavier boat than the one you have.

I have a 1999 PT 165 with a 50 hp (yes over by 10) and she does not hit 40 mph. It is in the low 30's. I have a 11 3/4 x 17P cupped prop. My motor is a 2005 johnson 50 hp. I am playing with the idea of trying a 12 1/4 x 15.

Well I kept the original tracker 25 hp and clocked it at 24.4 on the gps... pretty good Id say.......Ill just keep it for now........thanks for the reply's...I guess I just couldnt justify the money......although I could have used it in the deluge yesterday.....
