Compression should be approximately 100+ psi and even on all cylinders. Is it?
With the spark plugs removed, the spark should jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame.... a real SNAP! Does it?
If the above two areas are as they should be, fine. If not, what exactly are you receiving in those two areas?
With all as it should be, on a flushette with the hose on full blast, the idle on that engine depending on the shaft length should be as follows.
20" shaft engine = 1000rpm, 25" shaft engine = 1200rpm. In the water, the idle will drop to a normal setting. Let us know what you find.
