on last year's project boat i used rustoleum topside paint with their non skid additive. seems to be holding up very well so far after about 15-20 fishing trips. their non skid additive was basically fine mica (sand). it's a little sharp on bare feet. for this year's boat i have been looking at Awlgrip and Interlux's additive. has anybody had any experience with them and how do they feel on bare feet? both of them are listed as polyester beads rather than mica.

Re: non- skid additives

Can't really speak to the new additives you are asking about, but would like to offer that a coat of paint on top of the non-skid coat does seem to soften the effect on bare feet. You loose a bit of the non-skid traction, but you aren't walking on sandpaper, either.
