Ever go to Europe and plug your 110 volt shaver into a 230 volt outlet?. Yup, double the voltage and lifespan of the product is cut short -- very short. That applies to light bulbs, motors, and basically anything that runs on electricity. Now we need to be sure you are talking about 24 volts (two batteries in series) and not just paralleling two batteries which provides double the run time but still provides 12 volts.
