But I dont get the electrick gear shift working, And I got no spark on the lower sylinder. Can somebody help me with a wiring diagram to this motor?
The Serial number on this is B625, and model number is 502730.

Re: Old Evinrude

Your English is much better than my Norwegian. Your motor is a 1972 with Hydro-Electric shift. Are you sure it is not shifting? It has to be running before it will shift. Otherwise it will always be in forward gear.

Hi.
I dont know that, because its wont start:)
But when I crank it, its in forward, and I cant get it in neutral.
On the flywheel it stand "only start in neutral"
How can I get this in neutral?

Default is forward on your motor. It cannot be shifted into neutral unless it is running.

So when it starts, then it will go in neutral?

Re: Old Evinrude

It is shifted by hydraulic pressure from an oil pump in the lower unit. The electric part only operates a couple of oil flow valves. As soon as the motor (and oil pump) start to rotate, it will supply pressure to operate the shift and then it will go into whatever gear the button is pushed for. When it stops rotating, it goes back into forward.

That was supposed to be a safety feature. If anything goes wrong with the system, it goes into forward gear so you can get back home. At least that was the plan.
