Red face Battery connection for 55 yamaha

I pulled the starting battery to replace it without marking my leads. Both of the battery cables are black and the terminal ends are the same size. How can I tell which cable is positive and negative. Thanks in advance.

problem solved. Pulled cover. Found positive lead marked on starter. Traced lead back to battery. Connected!! Marked positive lead with red elect. tape.
