serial number HELP. please

I just bought this 20 hp JOHNSON but i cant find any info with the serial number on the motor. if anyone has any info for......S/N 15020-19864 it would be greatly appreciated .

it cant be. i just googled 1957 18hp Evinrude and thats definitely not the motor i have! my dad has a 53 Evinrude that looks like what your describing.mine is white with red and gray on the sides of the cover. it looks like its from the 80's. i wish someone could clear this up.

model 15020 is as had been said a 1957 18hp. it is quite possible that the cover has been repainted in it's life. Post a pic

Pretty easy to explain. You probably have a "JohnnyRude" motor. Somebody may have swapped power heads sometime in it's very long history. Where did the serial number come from? On the side of the motor or the transom bracket?

Hi, I just bought a johnson outboard can anyone tell me what i have. I know its a 25 horse and thats it the model number is E5909503 and the serial number is J25RCD Thank you for any help

Not to sound rude zach, but you have your numbers reversed. The J25RCD is actually your model number and the E5909503 is your serial #..

Just nfor future reference...

can someone tell me what year my motor is? it's a Mariner 40hp longshaft on the side of the motor it says
