I've got a original aluminum prop on my '87 Johnson 70hp that the edges are pretty chewed up but nothining over about 3/8" deep-
Would it help or make it worse if i smoothed the edges on it trying to keep everthing "uniform"
I want & know i need a new one but need to wait awhile
It's preforming OK now but i posted in the Johnson motor section about a vibration at 2000rpm & was told it was most likely my prop

if u file 1 down more than another the vibration will be worst new or have that reconditioned by someone with a balancer means a lot. new asap

have it professionally rebuilt it will cost far less than new and be just as good.
also if you continue to run it like it is you will most likely encounter bigger problems such as shaft seals and bearings being damaged from the vibration.
