Just picked up an old aluminum 14 1/2 foot Lone Star boat with a 1958 Evinrude Lark 35 HP 35514-20334. Plan on doing some fishing here in Idaho with my 3 boys.
Would like to get this outboard ready for fishing and trolling. Previous owner said it was running a couple of years ago but has been sitting with gas in it for awhile. So far I have ordered a carb kit, tune up kit, and impeller. Would appreciate info on the following:
1. What kind of gas tank does this model use - hard to find double-line presure tank, or single line standard Wal-Mart outboard tank?
2. What is the recommended gas/oil ratio for this engine?
3. What octane rating is best, and is ethanol mix OK?
4. What spark plugs and gap are recommended for higher altitude (4,500 ft - 7,000 ft) and used for slow trolling?
5. Any other suggestions or info
Thanks!
