Looking for help. I have a 1984 200 black max. Always started up well. It sat unused for 1 year after being properly winterized. Now it will crank but wont start. Has spark but i dont believe any fuel is being delivered when i prime the fuel bulb. I will start with a new fuel filter and bulb but any other suggestions before i drive over an hour to buy parts.
i appreciate any help from someone.

Re: No fuel to Merc 1984 200 ob

Check the fuel line connector at the motor. My 85 50hp had a plugged connector. I chased that problem for an hour. I was able to prime the bulb with the fuel line dissconnected from the back of the connector. Not a drop came out. I defeeted the pin and still couldn't get anything through. I smashed it on the bench with a hammer (more fun than you think) and there was a glob of black rubber in it. It was like a glue. I think the fuel line was breaking down and built up in it.

Go to the Engine FAQs Forum. Do "Outboard won't start".

Let us know what you find.
