Alright, took the boat to my trusted Yamaha tech a few days ago and today I got the call. Ignition is good, stator good, great compression and over all it's a good engine. But.....THE FUEL SYSTEM IS DEAD! Ethanol in the gas killed it, well pretty much anything rubber anyway. I'm having the 3 carbs reworked, and pretty much the whole fuel system replaced costing $505.00. I'm a car tech and not a boat tech, but please take my advice...drain the fuel if your not going to use the boat, or find some way to kill the ethanol. Taking the time to do this will save you alot of money as I just found out. Of course I don't have the boat back yet, but as soon as I have it and test it I will write another post and let you all know if the diagnosis was a good one, which i'm pretty confident it is. I hope this helps some fellow boaters find the answers they are looking for.
