I started removing the oil injection system on my '98 Johnson 150 HP Ficht and I disconnected the VRO (oil injection pump), and there were only two wires connected to the pump. I disconnected two wires from the oil tank that were going to the motor. I plugged the oil lines that were going to the pump so any air or dirt would not go to the engine. I mixed a 50:1 fuel to oil ratio, afterward I started the motors and both the oil light and buzzer turned on. My question is, what would I have to do to shut them off and not have them buzz or light on with out having to cut off any wires in the system?

Any help or suggestion are highly appreciated, thank you.

!!!!STOP!!!!!! You cannot bypass the oil injection on a ficht engine!!! You will lock it up trying to do this. The oil is injected by the oil pump into the crankcase where it is mixed with incoming air. This is what lubes the crank, bearings and the pistons have holes in skirt to lube cylinder walls. The fuel charge is shot into pocket in piston that why its raw fuel and no need for oil(the 98/99 did mix a little oil with this shot). Reconnect everything and have oil system reprimed or you will be buying another powerhead really really soon.
