what cc is my evinrude 6hp?

Hi, does anyone know what cc an evinrude 6hp please and can changing the prop make it more powerful?

8.84 cubic inches is about 145cc. What year is your 'Rude?

No, changing the prop is like changing gears in a car. If you have the wrong prop for your application getting the right prop can help the performance, but it cannot increase the power.

wow thats more cc's then my atv. my atv gots 250cc


my outboard has 16.6 cu so 16.3 * thats is270.58cc not bad i guess for a 10hp?

It could, capitan. I got the 8.84 ci from the JohnnyRude CD series of the 60s. I don't have specs on the newer 6.

There is really no comparison between a ATV motor. They are quite different creatures, for one a 2 cycle ATV engine has an expansion chamber exhaust which gives it more power. My 200 cc ATV has over 20 hp, no 200 cc outboard will make that type of power.

ya that is kinda weird i belive i saw somewhere that my atv made 17hp on some paper.
