I have a 200hp 1988 V6 merc Black Max. Number 2 cyl is is moderatly damaged and the piston is toast. Serial number ob242097
Unless I am misinterperting my research, this motor has chrome cylinders. I hooked the cherry picker up to the lift eye and undid all the fasteners and she won't budge!! I had an engineer friend of mine look at the manual and see if I missed any fasteners, and he said I had removed them all and the studs were simply rusted in midsection. We tried everything short of a plasma cutter to get it to seperate from the middle (heat, prybars on the studs, cussing at it) but no dice! If anyone can give me some idea how to get this thing apart, I am all ears
Thanks!!
Rob
