Default Removing control box Mercury

I have an 85' 90hp Mercury and have to get the controll box off. I'm sure the screws are caroded on good. But how does the shift lever come off. It's the origial box, but I'm not sure what model it is. What I have to do is replace the key switch. Can anyone give me any pointers. Thanks..

Once you get the control box off there is a screw that goes into the handle on the other side to hold it in.
