Hello,
I have recently rebuilt a 1998 evinrude 3.3 hp after it was overheated by the previous owner, although fotunately without damage to the cylinder or piston. However, in the lower RMP range, i.e. below half throttle, it is runs very lumpy. Is this due to the lack of ignition retardation, or is there a fuel problem?

I have been running the outboard on a 50:1 mixture, although I believe the outboard may in fact run on a 100:1 mixture. Could any one verify this please?

Also if anyone has a copy of the owner's manual, that would be creately appreciated.

Many thanks.

runs on 50:1, OMC recinded 100:`1 years ago.

what is your model #? they did not build a 3.3 hp in 1998. i would think card adjustments or contaminated carb.

read TOP SECRET FILE.

Many thanks for your reply.

I know what you mean about there being no 3.3s built in 1998, as I could not find it either, but that is the year of manufacture printed on the outboard. The model number I have is E3ROECS98.

Is there any way of adjusting the mixture on the 3.3 as from what I can see there is no mixture screw.

are you sure this is a 3.3 not a 2.3. well that makes no difference, both carbs are alike.

#21 is they only adjustment, you should be using TC-W3 outboard oil, not just 2 cycle oil, Walmarts Super Tech Brand is fine. mixed 50:1. by the way that is the same carb as the 3 and 2.3 hp.

Is there a workshop manual available for this 3.3hp Evinrude model - anywhere?

Does anyone know how to refit a new recoil starter rope?

Cheers
John
