1976 115 will not restart when motor is warm

my 115 will not start when i have ran it for a while

i have opened the top and shot a lil either in the breather and it will not fire
its like the coil packs get warm and quit working any help will be greatly helpfull

check for spark, and compression, next time. DO NOT USE ether, or other starter fluids, they strip the lubrication off the guts, and burn way too hot, good way to burn a hole in a piston... if you must use premixed gas.

funny took it out twice today and never done it again

i did idle it up a hair, i ran it a lil hard without the top on the motor i slowed up once and water filled the bottom of the motor compartment i guess something got wet and killed the motor i pulled compression on it 116
