looking to replace cable in a 1986 evinrude 85 horse. How do you open the control box. What should you not touch while open. Should I disconnect battery.
Thanks for that, I have the new cable, and have read a few posts about replacing it. The problem with the current cable is that near the entrance to the engine the plastic sheething has frayed..Theres some wire strands exposed so I took some good old electric tape and tightly wound it around the bad piece. I wonder how long that will work?? lol
