I have a 200HP Merc with a jet drive on it. The motor with not get above 4000 RPM. I give it full throttle and it feels like the boat is going to get up and then it just falls on its face. The boat feels like it has a miss so I tested all of the coils and the number 1 cylinder pack seems like it is the problem. The motor only has about 30 to 40 hours on it.
Two Questions: How likely is it that the Coil Pack would go out? Does any one have test specs for the coil pack? Do you have to buy the whole coil or can you just get the wire?
