Question about a Glastron I test Drove

I test drove a Glastron 1993 ssv 170 today with a suzuki 115hp on it. Seemed like an ok boat but it pulled very hard to the right. So hard that it took a fair amount of effort to make it go strait. The dealer said it was out board tourqe and could be adjusted by adjusting a trim tab on the outboard. Now all boats I have ever driven are easy to steer. Is this guy telling me truth, can you adjust a little tab and it effect the steering so dramatically? He is asking $3000 for the boat.

Thanks

Should work, but make the adjustment and test drive again.

Would getting the Teleflex no force fedback system likely fix the issue?

The little rutter type tab is on the bottom of the anti-cavitation plate (flange) to the rear of the propeller. Nuetral position is inline with the bow.

The engine torque would normaly make the boat turn to the right but the tabs if misalligned could make it turn either direction.

I agree with above posters. Adjust the trim tab and that should help alot. Retest and if you like the boat after that then check on the NFB system.

I put it on mine and it was the best money I have spent so far on the boat.! I love it.
Good Luck!

I would say no. You would not feel it but the motor and the teleflex will be fighting. I say if the motor has been set up properly you should not have to apply that much force.
If you are really interested in the boat tell the seller that you will buy it as long as they fix that issue. That will take care of it for you if the seller really wants to move the boat and the trim tab is the issue....
