Hello,
I do a lot of trolling for Salmon & Trout at low speeds however, anytime I let go of the throttle on my 1985 8hp, it will eventually stop. My queston is how to I tighten the throttle so it stays in place when I let go? I think it might be by popping the rubber end cap off the throttle and tightening a screw? Just looking for advice before I mess something up.

That clamp is only fitted to the sail versions 6SL and 8SRL but it may have been fitted to others later.

BETTER DIAGRAM

Its a pain, my 84 6hp sail version does not have the clamp!

In theory it would be possible to obtain and fit that clamp part number 394522
but I have made a fibre washer just thick enough to tighten the arm #39 in THIS DIAGRAM

It's a bodge but it works!

Thanks for the responses guys, much appreciated. I may have to live with it the way it is, I would hate to mess it up.
