Can someone tell me what the most optimum compression should be for this motor. We are buying a 28' older pontoon boat with this motor on it. The seller is saying the motor has 105 compression rate in each cylinder. I've heard that over 100 is good but would like to know what is the best. Thank you from a new boater.

Over 100 and within 10 percent of each other is what you are shooting for. unless it has been calibrated most gauges will read differently so the within 10 percent is what to pay closest attention to. Ask him to verify the PSI in the cylinders before you buy it.
