Hello,
New to the site and new to Sea Ray. Purchased a 2008 175 sport with 11.2 hours yesterday for 10k. I ordered a Garmin 440s today and I was hoping someone here could help with the transducer install. Where do I glue the transducer?

I am really excited to start contributing to this site!

You should have gotten a set of instructions and a template with the Garmin. You can place them in the bilge also, that's where I usually put mine.

You can try it to see if you can mount it in the bilge. If the hull is solid fiberglass, and not too thick, it should work. Screw the transducer to a bulkhead or stringer, with the head flat on the hull. Throw a cup of water over it and test it. If it works well, and will stay wet under normal circumstances, your done. Try some other spots until you get good readings

If it doesn't work, you will likely end up mounting it on the transom. If so, use marine silicone on the mounting screws and between the hull and transducer.
