Re: 1996 Mariner Outboard 115 HP oil Injected 2 stroke blown??
Most ANY engine can be repaired, at a cost.
What cost?
That all depends on the damage found once it is taken totally apart and every internal part inspected and mic'd.
You COULD get very lucky and get by with ONE piston, new rings on ALL pistons, plus gaskets and seals.
Then again, the crank could be scarred, rods egged out, all bearings roasted, all cyl's and pistons scored. Worst case, a re-manufactured or new engine COULD be cheaper AND carry a warranty.
Until it is taken apart, it is only an educated guess.
Many of us are pretty good, d&%# near the best, but we are NOT psychic, and have to look at EVERY part before we can give you an accurate cost to repair.
You could learn to do the job yourself, at least then you could save the cost of most of the labor.
Just keep posting your questions here and we will try to assist you.
