Hi all,

I was given a 1949 ELTO Sportster which won't stay running and i'm pretty sure it's because it's over heating due to no water getting to the powerhead. I removed the prop and opened up the lower unit and for a brass collar on the prop shaft, i'm thinking there should be rubber or plastic attached to the brass collar for an impellar. Does this sound right? If so could some one let me know a part number or something i can use to supply water to the powerhead. Any help would be appreciated.

also make sure it has the right prop. It has to have the holes in the side like the one in Frank's picture. That is how the water gets to the rotor.

The prop is the right one, it does have the holes. How exactly does the rotor work? Does it spin with the prop, cause to me by the looks of the picture, it looks like it's just stationary.

Not to jump this thread , but I have an Elto 4432 and have removed the prop , there is a , what appears to be a male splined cone that I'm not sure if it seperates from the flange held on by the two screws behind the prop , I have brought this mtr back to running but want to change the water pump rotor (impeller) and am not sure if this cone shaped spline unit comes off with the flange or by itself , then the flange to expose the rotor...any help
will be appreciated,,,,,chocsea

The hub slides right off. Well it is supposed to. May be corroded onto the shaft.

Are the hubs available if the one I have needs more than a gentle touch..?
I've used mild heat a pipe wrench on the hub and a center punch in the key
hole , all to no avail...any suggestions.....Thanks
