I'm at the point on my project boat (see my other post here) where I'm ready to start painting and had some questions...
Here's what I have in mind...for the outer hull I was going to strip and sand down to bare metal then wash with a mild acid like vinegar. What primer has the best track record for aluminum...zinc chromate or an epoxy primer?
I was going to prime the entire outer hull then apply a color above the waterline. Is there a general rule of thumb about how many coats of primer/paint? Is it best to lightly sand between coats?
For the inside, I was going to strip it as much as possible and wash then lay down a coat of Gluvit followed by primer and paint. Is my thinking right on this?
