When replacing stringer do I need any type of bedding material between hull and stringer to avoid damage to the hull?

Bed the stringer with Polysulfide adhesive

I glass 'em to the hull. A few strips of saturated cloth or mat under the stringer to fill in any voids. Poly putty would work as well.
