Evinrude Surging then won't idle after warm up

Problem... Motor runs fine for a short period then seems to have problems once it warms up.... after warm up tends to surge but will run at about 15% power so a good no wake motor....doesn't really idle to speak of and tends to die without warning...

Attempts to correct the problem include carb/fuel pump rebuild.... Replaced aging gas tank and hose.... Could this be an electrical/ignition problem? Power pack or ignition coils? Is there anyway a gearcase problem could present itself like this... doesn't sound to me like it could but I'm at a loss at after a year of screwing with this thing...

Please help I really don't want to have to get a new motor... and I don't know of any reputable outboard mechanics in bellevue NE.... Thanks for looking

check your spark cold, then recheck when it warms up and starts acting bad. sounds like a coil is heating up, and failing. also check for air leak in fuel line, and vent open on gas tank.

Is it getting too warm??? I'm pretty sure that motor has the S.L.O.W. feature which limits rpms if it gets above temp.
