I installed my new motor last week, this past weekend I got the boat cleaned and all the electrical hooked up. I have my old Merc cable from my prior motor(96 big foor 60HP). I don't remember how I took them off and I have no clue of which one goes where????? I do have a Clymer manual, but I haven't been able to find out where it will help me. If someone can help me I would appreciate it. I should be able to use the same throttle and gear cable as my prior motor right?

The control calbles should work just fine. Move teh throttle handle from neutral to forward. The first cable to move is the shift cable. Install this one first.

Put control in neutral, make sure motor is in neutral. Insert cable thru cowling and adjust barrel nut to fit retainer. Attach cable end to shift slide. Now install throttle cable. Attach throttle cable end to throttle arm. Adjust barrell to firmly push and hold throttle closed.
