I've got a 97 40hp mariner and had some troubles with it running properly... when i got it there was a tad bit of gas in the tank, and I just assumed it was some bad gas, so i put a can of seafoam in and she ran 10 gallons of gas w/out a hitch. Today we took the boat out on a fresh tank of gas with a 50:1 oil mixture and ran great for about 100yards then started sputtering and died out. Luckly I had a can of seafoam, put it in let the motor idle for a few and off I went... no problems.
To me it sounds like a carb problem, but any tips? minor issue/major issue?
Its kinda hard to afford a full tank of gas plus seafoam everytime I take her out.
Any and all advise will be greatly appreciated.
