I recently purchased this little boat and motor. It runs fine but is really a bear to manually tilt (no assist). Does any one know if the rams on the side are supposed to help or is there a leverage bar that fits the handles I can acquire. Any advice is appreciated.

Those cylinders hold the motor in the down position so you can decellerate quickly w/o motor poping up. Old oMCs had mechanical locks to do the same job.

the hooks will not grab the bar to hold my motor down. when put in reverse the hooks should engage but they dont clamp down enough to grab the bar. do you know anything bout this
