Hey Guys, I got this 1979 V150 has been excellent motor... can't kill the thang.

Here's the deal, it got to where it would not open up past half throttle in the water, outside the water with motor flusher attached it would scream at 3/4 throttle afraid to go higher. Today I pulled the powerhead from the driveshaft housing and found blown gaskets (the motor would barely spit water out the tell tale also), looks like water was being shot straight back out the exhaust. Water was getting up in the block and heads also as well as the poppet valve.

I also removed the exhaust manifold cover and the exhaust divider plate, what I found there was quite a bit of oil residue on the starboard side piston bank. (Which incidently has 90lbs compression on all 3 cyclinders), (the port side has 105, 115, 100 2,4,6 respectivily).

My question, Can I get away with new gaskets on powerhead & adapter plate... and put off the rebuild until winter, or I am better off just biting the bullit and rebuild her now?
