I have purchased a '87 Champion Bass Boat, 17'6.. On the Merc XR2 150 is a 12" 24p propeller.. Is that too big a prop for the boat? Can I "file" some of the dents from the previous owners abuse? Minor dents.. Waht is too big for this bost? Thanks

Re: Too Big a prop?

Actually I don't think its "too big" but rather "too small". That engine should probably be running a 14 inch prop. That 12 incher is of unknown origin (to us) and while it fits on the engine is probably for another engine. But - whatever works. READ THIS FIRST sticky.
