Default 1992 115hp Mariner - Can you tilt without power?

If someone gets themselves into a situation where they need to tilt the motor up.....but doesn't have power to tilt it(yet), how can this be done or can it even be done? The motor does have tolt/trim, but it isn't completly hooked up yet, but the motor needs to be tilted to get into a workable position. Any help would be appreciated on this.

There should be a manual release on the power trim unit. Usually on the lower part, and usually a large straight slotted plastic screw. Unscrew it and see if she tilts by hand.

I am not sure if I can even get to the tilt cylinder area, it was late last night and now I can't remember how close it is. But where would this release be? Does it just release the pressure or is it going to release the oil? Also is there a way to hook up a battery to the tilt wire and move it that way? I was reading some other post here, and I think if I read correctly that there are two wires, blue and green(under the cowl), it says disconnect the bullet connectors(not sure what that is), but if i connect the blue wire to a positive terminal that it should raise the tilt???? Anyone done this or know if it actually works?
