1994 112hp.lower unit removal

how do you disconnect the shift shaft on the 112 horse power to drop the lower unit. Is it a single shaft running from inside the lower unit running up to the power head or is it a splined two piece shaft ?:confused:

I do not know your motor, but many newer motors have a threaded coupling inside the water intake screen just above the LU. Remove the screen and look.

there is a screw that is tough to get to with out a swivel underneath the carberators 1 long shaft
